Corina Tengco-Bautista
Simply Corina! The Chairman is a Woman.

Being born to an affluent family, people initially perceive her to possess an innate aristocratic snobbish character. But once she opens her mouth and expresses her thoughts on both serious business concerns or trivial girl talks, you begin to sense that she is indeed, one of us. Contrary to public perception, she is a very flexible individual who could easily adapt to her crowd: rich, poor, straight, LGBT, young, or old.

Corina Tengco-Bautista was the typical well-bred colegiala of her time, having studied at Maryknoll College (now Meriam) and college at the Assumption College (San Lorenzo, Makati), where she finished her degree in Entrepreneurship. She initially sought employment at the Central Bank of the Philippines. At that time getting an employment slot in the big banks was an enviable opportunity. Her father, former DBP Governor Pete Tengco wanted his children to live a useful life. He encouraged them to seek their own niches and were taught the value of hard work to earn their living.

When the family finally decided to establish the Legacy Memorial Park, she was designated as general manager to oversee its day-to-day operations. Today, Legacy is almost sold-out and remains to be one of the best-maintained memorial parks in the City of Malolos, with a very cozy community setting. It's being relatively compact and neat set-up has given the park a more serene ambiance.

In the year 2000, the family was able to secure the first Bulacan franchise for Max's Restaurant, the original Filipino fried chicken chain in the country. It proved to be a big hit, offering a fine-dining experience at popular prices. As store manager, Corina made sure she understood everything about the restaurant business from A-Z. Her preparation for the position included training in housekeeping at Johnson and Johnson's and eventually enrolled for a master's degree in Restaurant Management at the College of St. Benilde. Today, the company operates two Max's branches in Malolos and a branch of Yellow Cab Pizza. The pandemic was not kind to the foodservice sector. Corina's company is strongly putting up with the challenges to keep the business afloat. She particularly feels for the welfare of her em-employees. The business has not returned to the pre-pandemic trend. She believes our best hope is putting an end to the pandemic.

Another side of Corina is engrossed with her civic commitments. She is deeply involved with the Rotary International, having served several positions from Club President to being the first female District Governor as well as the first female Chairperson of the Philippine College of Rotary Governors. She likewise sits in the Council Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines and currently holds the position of National Assistant Treasurer. She is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bulacan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. Her social involvements have earned her a long list of distinctions namely: Women Helping Women from the Soroptimist Club of Malolos, Outstanding Club President from Rotary District 3770 as well as other Rotary assignments overseas from Rotary International.

She has been an active officer of the Bulacan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. and is presently the Chairman of its Board of Trustees. Under her chairmanship, the BCCI Board of Trustees was transformed into a working board, actively supporting the executive commitments of the President and ensuring the organizational stability and sustainability of its long-term goals. She has injected a high standard of professionalism and good board governance. Madam Corina has her own unique brand of dignified elegance, charismatic diplomacy, and demure silliness that earns her peers' respect and trust. She has evolved into a woman of her own. In the end, this down-to-earth lady would like to be known simply as "Carina".
