The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), in partnership with the Bulacan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), conducted another Tourism Enterprise Zone (TEZ) Investment Forum in Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center, Malolos, Bulacan last 23 September 2019. This is in preparation for the potential of Bulacan to be a fast-growing tourism destination in light of the recently approved international airport project of a private consortium.

TIEZA aims to establish sustainable Tourism Enterprise Zones (TEZs) and undertake infrastructure projects to promote tourism investments and contribute to inclusive growth. Among the attendees were the Executive Assistant of Governor’s Office Mr. Cris S. Roque, the Supervising Tourism Operations Officer of Region III Ms. Chriselle May S. Yambao, and the President of BCCI Ms. Cristina C. Tuzon together with the BCCI Board of Trustees.

For the part of TIEZA, the Assistant Chief Operating Officer (ACOO) of TIEZA-TEZ Management Sector Atty. Karen Mae G. Sarinas-Baydo, Division Manager of TIEZA’s Evaluation and Registration Division Mr. Donald Maldonado, and Department Manager of TIEZA’s TEZ Assistance and Monitoring Department Mr. Hernando Enal presented the mandates of TIEZA, the process of application and registration of TEZs and tourism enterprises, as well as investment opportunities in TEZs, respectively.

Also in attendance were various resort/hotel and restaurant associations, travel and tours agencies, municipalities, tourism corporations, and other tourism related enterprises around the region.

It is TIEZA’s primary mandate to designate, regulate and supervise TEZs, as well as grant and administer incentives to Registered Tourism Enterprises (RTEs). In line with its mandate, TIEZA is now implementing its Flagship TEZ Projects and have designated several private TEZs and registered Tourism Enterprises, and are expecting to attract more and more investments in this golden age of infrastructure.
